Ryland View Residents Get Creative with Colourful Afternoon of Art and Joy
15 July 2025
On Friday 6th June, Ryland View Care Home was alive with colour, creativity, and cheer as residents took part in a fun-filled afternoon hosted by Creative Mojo Kidderminster, Dudley & Wolverhampton West. The session brought a wide variety of engaging activities to the home—including painting, colouring, gluing, and sensory crafts—that sparked imagination and encouraged expression.
The event wasn’t just about fun—it also had meaningful benefits for residents’ wellbeing. Participating in creative activities can improve fine motor skills, enhance focus, reduce stress, and boost emotional wellness. And for the residents of Ryland View, it was all of that and more.
“It has been such a lovely afternoon,” said Sarah, Activity Coordinator at Ryland View. “To see all the residents so engaged throughout the session was heart-warming. They all looked so interested and happy—it really brought everyone together.”
The enthusiasm was evident, with residents immersing themselves in the colourful creations. John shared, “I have really enjoyed painting different flowers and butterflies this afternoon.” Sheila agreed, adding simply, “What a lovely afternoon.”
A special highlight of the day was when residents Sheila, John, and Norman were each awarded an Art Achievement Certificate for their participation—earning a well-deserved round of applause from everyone.
All the wonderful creations made during the session are now proudly displayed in the home’s reception area, where visitors can stop and admire the talent and joy that went into each piece.
Well done to all our budding artists—we’re already looking forward to the next creative afternoon!
