The visit created unforgettable festive memories and perfectly captured the warmth, surprise, and happiness that make Christmas at Ryland View so special.
Santa Brings Festive Magic to Ryland View Care Home
7 January 2026
Ryland View Care Home was filled with festive joy on Sunday 21st December, as residents were treated to a very special visit from Santa Claus himself. Santa took time to walk around the home, visiting every resident individually and spreading Christmas cheer wherever he went. The smiles on residents’ faces were truly priceless.
What made the visit even more special was the surprise behind Santa’s identity. Santa was none other than the much-loved Elvis impersonator who regularly visits the home and is a firm favourite with residents. Many residents didn’t recognise him at first, until the singing began.
One particularly touching moment came when Hazel was asked if she knew who Santa was. When she replied no, Santa began to sing, and Hazel instantly realised, exclaiming, “Oh my goodness, it’s Elvis!” Her face lit up with joy, and she later shared that it was “the best Christmas present I could ask for.”
Another resident, Jean, also enjoyed the visit, simply commenting: “What a lovely Santa.”
Sarah, Wellbeing Coordinator, reflected on the day, saying:
“It was actually emotional to see how happy the residents were when they saw Santa — they all smiled. I have printed photos of every resident with Santa and placed a copy in their bedrooms as a keepsake.”
