Sunshine and Smiles: End of Summer Beach Party at Ryland View

At Ryland View Care Home, the spirit of summer was alive and well as residents, staff, and visitors gathered to celebrate the end of the season with a lively beach party. This joyful afternoon was all part of our BHappie movement, a company initiative aimed at bringing more joy and connection to our home. The weather couldn’t have been better, with the sun shining brightly over our outdoor festivities, perfectly setting the stage for a day full of laughter, music, and camaraderie.

From the moment the party began, it was clear that this was going to be an event to remember. As the warm rays of the sun bathed everyone in golden light, Naomi, our wonderful entertainer, took center stage. Her uplifting summer tunes filled the air, and soon enough, residents and staff alike were swaying and dancing to the music. “The sunshine has brought out the best in everyone,” Naomi remarked with a bright smile. “I’ve enjoyed singing for you, and having you dance along has been great!”

The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as different fun activities were available for everyone to join in. Whether it was playing games, enjoying the décor, or simply soaking up the sun, there was something for everyone. Jess, from our admin team, couldn’t help but notice the enthusiastic participation from all corners of the care home. “This has been a great turnout,” she said. “Staff getting involved has been lovely. A big thank you to Emily who kindly borrowed us her fun summer decorations!”

Indeed, a special thank you was due to Emily, the daughter of one of our residents, who had generously lent us a variety of summer-themed activities and decorations. Her thoughtful contributions truly helped to transform our outdoor space into a vibrant beach-like setting. “I never mind helping you out as much as I can,” Emily shared. “It’s nice to see everyone outside with Dad enjoying the summer vibe!”

As the festivities continued, our chefs, Becky and Jan, made sure no one was left wanting. They circulated among the crowd, offering a delightful selection of different flavoured ice creams, adding a sweet touch to the day’s events. The ice cream was a hit, bringing smiles to faces all around.

Even our new resident, John, felt the warmth of the community as he joined in the fun. “This has been great, something fun to get involved in as I’m new here,” he said.

The day wouldn’t have been complete without the support and participation of our dedicated team. Vipul, our Deputy Manager, took a moment to reflect on the day’s success, saying, “This has been great, lovely seeing everyone outside enjoying.”
