Therapy Dog Mindy Brings Joy to West Ridings Care Home

West Ridings Care Home was buzzing with excitement this morning as residents were treated to a special visit from Mindy, a charming therapy dog who melted hearts all around.
Mindy, a 9-year-old Romanian rescue dog, serves as a Canine Befriender and spends her days bringing comfort and joy to patients at a local hospital alongside her owner, Angie. Today, she extended her love and warmth to the residents and staff at West Ridings.
The visit sparked fond memories among many residents, who shared stories about their own beloved dogs from the past. They eagerly asked Angie questions about Mindy, fed her treats, and delighted in giving her plenty of attention — including her favorite, a good bum scratch!
“It was heartwarming to see the smiles on everyone’s faces,” a staff member shared. “Mindy has such a calming presence, and she brought a lot of happiness to the home today.”
Mindy’s visit not only brightened the residents’ day but also fostered a sense of connection and nostalgia that left a lasting impact.
The team at West Ridings Care Home is already looking forward to welcoming Mindy back for another visit in the near future.
