Tommy Whitelaw Delivers Powerful Session at Manager’s Meeting

More than 100 colleagues from across Advinia Healthcare’s Scottish care homes have come together at Hillview Care Home for a series of powerful sessions delivered by Tommy Whitelaw from the Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland.
Tommy was initially invited to speak to Advinia’s Scottish Home Managers during their monthly managers’ meeting. The response to his presentation was exceptionally positive, prompting the team to secure funding to make the experience available to colleagues across all of Advinia’s Scottish homes.
Over two days at Hillview, Tommy delivered two sessions to more than 100 colleagues, sharing his message and experiences with teams from across Scotland.
The sessions provided an opportunity for colleagues from different homes and roles to come together, listen, reflect and consider the difference they can make through the care and support they provide every day.
The response from those attending has been phenomenal, demonstrating the impact Tommy’s sessions have had on colleagues and the value of creating opportunities for teams to learn and reflect together.
Following the success of the first two days, a further session is already planned for 15 September, giving even more Advinia colleagues the opportunity to hear from Tommy and benefit from his experience.
The initiative reflects Advinia Healthcare’s continued commitment to investing in its colleagues and creating opportunities for learning that can positively influence the experiences of residents and families.
