Wagging Tails and Happy Faces at Madeira House’s Paws on Parade

Madeira House Care Home welcomed residents, families, friends and some very special four-legged visitors for its Paws on Parade event on 26 August 2026.

The home was delighted to be joined by ARK Animal Charity in Louth, who kindly took on the important task of judging the day’s Best Dressed Doggie competition.

There was plenty of competition, with a fantastic selection of dogs arriving dressed to impress before three worthy winners were awarded first, second and third place.

The fun continued with a dog obstacle course, giving the pooches a chance to show off their skills, while plenty of sweet treats were available for both the furry guests and their owners. With the sunshine making an appearance too, it was the perfect setting for residents and visitors to enjoy spending time together.

One resident said: “It was such a lovely day. Seeing all the dogs brought so many smiles, and there was a wonderful atmosphere throughout the home.”

Another added: “There were wagging tails and happy faces everywhere. It was great to see residents, visitors and the local community all enjoying the day together.”

Events such as Paws on Parade are a wonderful opportunity for Madeira House to bring residents and the wider community together, creating new experiences and plenty of special moments along the way.
