Woodfield Grange Care Home Hosts Successful ‘Battle Against Dementia’ Charity Event

20 October 2024

Woodfield Grange Care Home recently held a heartfelt charity event, The Battle Against Dementia, at The Lakeside, Ponderosa Zoo, raising an impressive £376.00 for Alzheimer’s Society. The event, held from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, saw enthusiastic participation from residents, families, staff, and two additional local care providers.

Guests enjoyed an afternoon filled with entertainment, as well as a buffet, all for just a £5 donation to the charity. The event was a great success, providing an opportunity for attendees to come together in support of those affected by dementia.

One of the standout highlights was the strong sense of community fostered at the event, as residents were able to connect with others. This aligns with Woodfield Grange’s B Happie approach, which emphasizes the importance of social interaction and meaningful connections for its residents. In fact, one resident is now forming a new friendship with someone they met at the event, showcasing the lasting impact these gatherings have.

There has been strong support for the idea of hosting similar events in the future, with requests for up to two charity events next year. Woodfield Grange plans to contribute to funding these future events, as this year’s event was generously funded by the organising company.

The day was not only about raising funds but also about making lasting memories and strengthening community bonds, and Woodfield Grange is already looking forward to future opportunities to unite for a great cause
