Young Fundraisers Raise £1,000 for Residents at Goldielea Care Home

Residents and colleagues at Goldielea Care Home are celebrating the incredible generosity of pupils at Cargenbridge Primary School, who have raised an impressive £1,000 to support activities, outings, and experiences for residents.

The fundraising success is the latest chapter in a long-standing intergenerational partnership between the care home and the school. Over the years, strong friendships have developed through regular visits and shared activities, with pupils and residents enjoying everything from board games and singalongs to Easter egg hunts, party games, and friendly competitions.

Inspired by the joy these activities bring to residents, the children wanted to find a way to give back. After learning that the home no longer had access to a minibus for community outings, pupils from Primary 5 took it upon themselves to organise a series of fundraising events to help.

The ambitious young fundraisers hosted a bake sale, coffee morning, car wash, and sponsored walk, raising a remarkable £1,000 through their hard work and determination.

The funds will be used to support resident outings, provide transport to community events, purchase new activity equipment, and create even more opportunities for meaningful experiences both inside and outside the home.
