Animal Magic Lights Up The Screen For Millview Residents

14 April 2021

Millview Residents have been able to keep up with their favourite animal visitors during the lockdown thanks to the power of technology.

Millview Residents have been able to keep up with their favourite animal visitors during the lockdown thanks to the power of technology.

Lorna from Bunny & Co. usually brings in a selection of furry friends for animal activity sessions several times a year.

However, the lockdown restrictions have meant Lorna couldn’t come in person, so she’s started doing regular video calls instead.

Activities Co-ordinator Lindsay Massot said Residents have thoroughly enjoyed watching her selection of cute animals roam around the house.

Lindsay said: “Lorna has rabbits, guinea pigs, hens, ducks and cats – and we’ve been able to see them all.

“When she calls, she’ll take Residents to the hen house so they can watch her feed the chickens.

“Residents love chatting to her and her husband as they watch the animals playing and feeding.

“This year, Lorna got Easter chicks, and she named one of them Betty, in honour of one of the Residents. Meanwhile, their new guinea pig is going to be called ‘Rosie’ because Resident Elizabeth’s daughter had a pet called the same name and asked if she could name her.”

When the restrictions end, Lorna is looking forward to bringing the animals into Millview to visit in person again. But the virtual visits have been a great way to keep in touch.

Lindsay said: “We’ve all had to adjust and do things differently.

“We’re so glad Lorna was able to do this and keep Residents entertained with the animal fun and games at her house.”
