Annan Court Residents Take The Low Road To Carlingwark Loch

A nostalgic bus trip through one of south-west Scotland’s most stunning landscapes gave Annan Court Residents a fantastic day out.

The group boarded the bus to take in the breathtaking beauty of the scenery on their journey to Carlingwark Loch.

Activities Co-ordinator June Fitzpatrick asked their driver to take the Low Road from Annan to Castle Douglas.

She wanted Residents to get the chance to revisit places they’ve loved all their lives as they wended their way to the loch.

June said: “This was our first large group outing since the pandemic began.

“The mood on the bus was terrific, and the Residents were thrilled to get out and about.

“During our journey, we saw places like Glencaple on the coast, which prompted fond memories.

“The Residents loved sharing stories about their time spent at these different landmarks, and they didn’t stop swapping tales.”

When the group arrived at the Loch, they dined on a picnic lunch of soup, sandwiches and hot beverages.

The views across the water were spectacular, and the residents thoroughly enjoyed the chance of scene.

June added: “It does the heart good to spend time in natural beauty, and this area has got it all.

“It was so lovely to see the positive impact the trip had on the Residents, and they’ve given me some fantastic feedback.

“Everyone agreed we need to arrange another trip out ASAP – and we’re lucky to have so much choice in this magical part of the world!”
