All Odds On A Great Day At Annan Court Care Home For The Grand National
26 April 2021

Residents and Colleagues couldn’t stop cheering at Annan Court when they celebrated a day at the races from the comfort of their own home.
Annan Court Care Home, Annan, invited Residents and Colleagues to take bets for the famous Grand National – but instead of cash the home handed out gold cups and other treats to the winners on the day.
And to make it extra special, Colleagues ordered in the takeaway pizza and fish and chips for tea – all by popular demand.
Activities Co-ordinator June Fitzpatrick said: “We were planning this for weeks, taking orders from the Residents. We asked everyone what they wanted, and we certainly went to town on the food and of course everyone picked a horse.”

Lucky resident Joan Williams cleaned up on the day when she won the Residents’ sweepstake.
Joan was delighted when she was presented with a gold cup and a bottle of bubbly to mark her Aintree victory earlier this month.
June said: “Every year we try and make the day extra special, and this day was particularly fun, and everyone was in such good spirits, we can’t wait to do it all again!”
Sixteen of the Watchall Road Residents took part in the day enjoying the fun from the Home’s luxurious lounge area.
And there’s plenty more going on at Annan Court with an International Dance Day coming up next (April 29).
