The Residents of Annan Court are getting the chance to indulge in spa treatments every week thanks to a new ‘Pamper Friday’ initiative.
Activities Co-ordinator June Fitzpatrick is making sure that everyone gets the opportunity to have pampering treatments each week at her ‘pop-up’ spa.
Residents can choose from a selection that includes homemade face packs, body scrubs, hot cloth face cleansing and hair treatments.
June and her Colleagues run their spa out of the salon room at Annan Court, where they have some useful beauty and hair amenities. The salon room is used by the hairdressers who usually visit but can’t come at the moment due to quarantine restrictions.
For Residents, it’s not just the spa pampering that’s a tonic, but the social aspect of the experience too.
June said: “It’s a great chance to get together with friends for a wee chat and cuppa while having a beauty treatment too.
“We’ve created a lovely atmosphere in our spa, with relaxing music, plenty of magazines and beverages served in fine china cups.
“Our ladies love coming in to have their treatments and spending time chatting and relaxing together. It’s been a big success and it’s one of the most popular things on our weekly activities planner.”
The local press in Annan was impressed by all the activities that the team at Annan Court have been coming up with during the lockdown – including the spa.
The Annandale Observer dedicated a whole page to pictures of Residents enjoying the activities in the Home in April.
