Arncliffe Court Care Home Raises Funds and Spirits at MacMillan Coffee Morning

On Friday 29th September, Wellbeing Coordinators Lydia Jerome and Michelle Rimmer organised a coffee morning in Arncliffe Court Care Home to raise funds for MacMillan Cancer Support.

Hundreds of similar events took place across the country and so far an amazing total of £1.2million has been raised from people getting together to share some home baking and a cuppa! The monies collected is used to fund MacMillan nurses and to provide support for people living with Cancer and their families.

At Arncliffe the kitchen provided a delicious variety of cakes and biscuits with tea and coffee and a buffet lunch. The event was attended by Residents, their families and members of the community who all donated to this worthy cause. There was even a game of prize bingo. Wellbeing Coordinator Lydia Jerome said “It was great to see everyone smiling and interacting and the goodies were delicious”

Amongst those attending was Resident Ann Hollywood, age 86, (pictured) who said “It was really nice for Residents from the different houses to come together and enjoy each other’s company. Well done to the team for putting this together and we are looking forward to doing it all again”
