Team Burrswood Does Eurovision At Pop-tastic Afternoon Event
15 June 2021

The glitz of Eurovision came to Bury this year as Team Burrswood staged their very own musical contest at the Home.
Hosted by Home Manager Neil Hooley, the competition saw Colleagues perform as famous Eurovision acts for thrilled Residents.
Burrswood versions of Abba, Bucks Fizz, Brotherhood of Man and Grease (representing the country Greece) took to the stage in their sparkly costumes.
Residents sang and danced along to the performances, while host Neil channelled his inner Graham Norton to provide hilarious commentary.
According to Activities Co-ordinator Emma Taylor, it was a fabulous afternoon of fun and laughter.
Emma said: “We love Eurovision and we thought it would be fun to have our own song contest right here at Burrswood.
“Each of the acts selected a country to represent and a song to perform, then we toured the show round all the units.
“The admin team conferred with Residents to get their votes and Grease for Greece were crowned our winners!”
After the fun of their in-house contest, Residents sat down to enjoy the real thing as Eurovision 2021 was screened on the BBC.
They had wine and nibbles as they watched Italian rockers Måneskin storm to a win in Rotterdam.
