Burrswood Residents Enjoy Lunch And Christmas Shopping At Local Garden Centre
12 November 2021
A group of Residents from Burrswood House enjoyed one of life’s simplest pleasures this Autumn as they did lunch at their local garden centre.
Activities Co-ordinator Emma Taylor and her colleagues Duncan and Vanessa took nine Residents to Bradley Fold Garden Centre in Ratcliffe.
The group wanted to wander around the Christmas decorations shop and enjoy a leisurely lunch at the café.
Bradley Fold Garden Centre is renowned for the stunning Christmas displays they put on as the festive season approaches.
According to Emma, the Residents had a wonderful time wandering around the decorative spaces and getting in the Christmas spirit.
Emma said: “It was the perfect time for a visit to Bradley Fold – the Residents were really excited to go back.
“During the lockdowns, they missed being able to have a nice lunch out and a mooch around the garden centre.
“The Christmas decorations looked spectacular and gave us lots of inspiration for Burrswood House’s efforts this year.”
Lunch consisted of delicious fayre from the café’s menu, where the meat is sourced from local farms and served on artisan bread.
The Residents and Colleagues enjoyed coffees, too, before looking at the flowers, plants and homeware on display.
Emma said: “One of the Residents was telling us about her trips to Bradley Fold when she was younger and how much she enjoyed them.
“It felt good to be able to give the Residents a nice treat and a day out to a great local business.
“We look forward to another visit to Bradley Fold soon.”
