Burrswood House Residents Enjoy Marvellous Mother’s Day!

Flowers filled Burrswood House this Mother’s Day as Residents enjoyed a special Sunday of activities.

Activities Co-ordinator Vanessa Clark and Colleagues spent the morning arranging bright and beautiful bouquets around the Home.

Local supermarkets Tesco and Asda had donated the flowers for Residents to enjoy on Mothering Sunday.

The fantastic florals provided a beautiful backdrop to the fun and games at Burrswood House.

Vanessa said: “It was lovely of Asda and Tesco to kindly donate flowers to the Residents.

“They brightened up Burrswood and made us all smile.

“We had lots of entertainment going on throughout the day and some delicious food.

“There was a special roast beef lunch and a sumptuous afternoon tea with cakes. It was a Mother’s Day to remember.”

On the Peel Unit, Burrswood House Residents participated in musical memories activities.

Care Colleagues took dancers for a spin, and there was plenty of singing to enjoy too.

Over at Crompton Unit, Laurel and Hardy tribute act Stan and Ollie gave a slapstick masterclass as they got Residents chuckling.

The hilarious duo insisted on audience participation during their fun-filled antics. Luckily there were plenty of Residents who were happy to get involved.

Vanessa added: “It was so much fun to see Stan and Ollie in full flow!

“We also had Stuart Gugir running a Music For Health session on Kay Unit, which was fun for Residents.

“They got to play some musical instruments and sing along to Stuart’s tunes.

“I hope Burrswood House gave all Residents a reason to smile this Mother’s Day!”
