Home Manager’s Homemade Butterfly Signs Bring Joy To Barrock Court
21 June 2020

Barrock Court Manager Marie Forshaw harnessed her creative talents to make fantastic new signs for the home’s units.
Marie, who is a keen crafter in her spare time, planned to make something unique for the Residents and her Colleagues.
She wanted the new signs to look beautiful and to stand out for all the right reasons. Marie was also keenly aware of making sure that the designs worked well for Residents living with dementia too.
Marie said: “It was the perfect opportunity for me to bring some of my creativity into the home, and our unit names inspired me.
“Given that I was making signs for Woodland’s Walk, Meadow Field and Forest Walk, I was able to use nature as my inspiration.
“The butterflies are pretty, cheerful, and they really stand out. I’ve been delighted with the feedback from my Colleagues and our Residents. I’m glad they like the new signs.”
Marie worked on the signs over one May weekend and they were put in place in early June. Now she’s planning her next crafty project for Barrock Court.
Marie said: “Crafting brings me a lot of joy, so I’m excited about what’s coming up.
“It’s lovely to be able to contribute something different, and I know it’s nice for Residents, Colleagues and Relatives to see these colourful creations throughout the home.”
