There were celebrations at Newcarron Court this March when neighbour Craig Eddie was crowned winner of the TV talent show ‘The Voice’.

Throughout Craig’s journey on the programme, Colleagues and Residents at Newcarron have been cheering him on.

Craig is well known at the Home as he and his mother live on a property within the grounds, plus he gave a special performance for Residents in the summer of 2020.

So, when he reached the final, Activities Co-ordinator Hazel Phillips said that everyone at Newcarron was supporting him to win.

Hazel said: “Craig is an amazing singer and a wonderful guy – we are so proud of him!

“We’ve had banners up outside to show everyone we’re supporting him, and we’ve tuned in each week to see how he was doing.

“It’s incredible to think that our Craig has won such a prestigious competition. It’s a life-changing achievement, and we can’t wait to see where Craig goes next.”

Big-hearted Craig lent his support to Colleagues and Residents at Newcarron Court by performing a socially distanced set in the grounds last year.

During one of the ‘Clap For Carers’ evenings, Craig sang a selection of classics and wowed everyone.

Hazel added: “It was a terrific night, and it meant the world to us here that Craig would do this for us. He’s a credit to his family and Newcarron.”
