The month of March at Madeira House Care Home was filled with Easter excitement as residents and staff came together for a series of festive activities and celebrations. Throughout the month, the home buzzed with the sound of creativity as residents engaged in crafting sessions to make Easter decorations. As they worked on their projects, stories of Easter celebrations from their childhoods flowed freely, sharing cherished memories and traditions with one another.
In keeping with some of these traditions, residents and staff rolled up their sleeves to bake Easter biscuits and chocolate nests, filling the home with the warm and comforting scent of freshly baked treats. The joy of baking together was evident as residents reminisced about past baking experiences and reveled in the satisfaction of sharing their creations with others.
On March 27th, the home welcomed a live singer who serenaded residents with nostalgic tunes from the 50s and 60s, transporting them back to days filled with music, dance, and laughter. The performance provided an opportunity for residents to relive youthful memories and connect with the shared experiences of their past.
As Easter weekend arrived on March 31st, the festivities continued with an Easter bonnet competition, adding a touch of festive flair to the day. Residents showcased their creativity as they modeled their decorated bonnets, culminating in the selection of a winner by popular vote.
The Easter spirit was further heightened as residents received Easter eggs and enjoyed a traditional Easter roast dinner, bringing the taste of the season to the dining room tables.
On April 1st, the joyous celebrations continued with a musical performance by George, who entertained residents with classic songs and lively tunes. The music not only provided an opportunity for residents to dance and exercise but also fostered social interaction and new connections among them, spreading smiles and laughter throughout the home.
