Morrisons Flower Donation Inspires Elderslie Floristry Session

The ladies of Elderslie Care Home enjoyed a fabulous afternoon of flower arranging in July, courtesy of Morrisons supermarkets.

Community Champion Julie Scott at Morrison’s Johnstone branch got in touch with Elderslie to arrange the donation of single stem flowers.

Julie wanted Residents to enjoy some floral cheer, so Activities Co-ordinator Catriona Gralko decided to host a floristry session.

She and the ladies enjoyed spending time making beautiful arrangements to place around the Home.

Catriona said: “We’re so grateful to Morrisons and Julie for their kind donation – the flowers certainly put a smile on the residents’ faces.

“The great thing about the session was that the ladies got to socialise together while doing an activity that was mentally and physically stimulating.

“The beautiful flowers have really brightened up our communal areas.”

Catriona is already looking forward to working with Julie again on another collaboration with Morrisons later this year.

Elderslie is planning to do a sponsored walk from the Home to Morrisons Johnstone.

Catriona added: “It’s going to be a great challenge and a fantastic way to get residents and staff moving together.

“We feel extremely grateful to have such a wonderful connection with Morrisons and look forward to working with Julie on many more projects.”
