Salvation Army Band Perform First Post-Lockdown Concert At Elderslie

Elderslie Care Home was delighted to play host to the Salvation Army’s Paisley Corps Fellowship Band for their first performance since lockdown.

The talented musicians played an open-air concert on Sunday 22nd August in the Home’s grounds for Residents and Colleagues.

Keen audience members gathered by the windows and outside in the garden as the Paisley Corps Fellowship Band ran through their entire repertoire.

According to Elderslie Activities Co-ordinator Catriona Gralko, the atmosphere was joyous.

Catriona said: “We feel truly blessed that the band visited us on such a beautiful sunny day and made some great memories for us all.

“Although they hadn’t played since the lockdown, the band were terrific, and their talent blew us all away.

“It was magical to hear live music in the grounds again.”

Resident Arthur requested that the brass and percussionists played ‘Morning Has Broken’ to begin the performance.

As the band played on, Residents and Colleagues joined in with tambourines as they sang along to the classic songs and hymns.

Catriona added: “The music filled the air, and our Residents had an amazing time moving and dancing along.

“It’s incredible how much of a lift this has given us all, and we can’t thank the Salvation Army Paisley Corps Fellowship Band enough.”
