Fireworks Night Goes Off With A Bang At The Priory
26 November 2020

The November lockdown didn’t stop Residents at The Priory enjoying a bonfire night to remember – thanks to their fabulous fireworks display.
On the run-up to the 5th of November, Colleagues asked the Residents what they’d most like to do during the month, and fireworks came out top.
Having spent so much time indoors during the year, Residents couldn’t wait for the outdoor celebration of Guy Fawkes.
Colleagues made sure everyone was wrapped up safe and warm before Maintenance Officer John Hutson took care of the sparkly entertainment.
John said: “It was great fun to have a proper, traditional Bonfire Night – our fireworks went off with a bang!
“Making sure the display is beautiful, safe and fun is a big responsibility, but one I was happy to take on.
“Everyone loved it, and I got a lot of lovely comments from the Residents. Some were even talking about what a good time they’d had days later.”
Delicious mugs of hot chocolate accompanied the evening entertainment to keep the Residents warm.
Those who felt it was too cold to venture outside still got to enjoy the display as they congregated by the Priory’s windows to watch from afar.
John is hoping that next year’s event will be even more spectacular.
John added: “This was The Priory’s first-ever fireworks night and I know the Residents will want it to become an annual tradition.
“Next year, things are likely to be very different and hopefully we can invite the Residents’ families to enjoy the fun too!”
