Rutherglen Singer’s Garden Opera Performance Sends Spirits Soaring

Sensational soprano Angela Estrada wowed her audience at Rutherglen Care Home by performing a stunning set from the garden.

Kind-hearted Angela, who is a professional opera singer, lives close to the Home and wanted to bring joy to Residents with a surprise performance.

On Friday 2nd April, Angela arrived and performed a series of opera classics, including a sing-a-long version of ‘Que Sera Sera’ for Residents to join in.

 Activities Co-ordinator Maureen Thomson said it was a wonderful afternoon.

Maureen said: “Angela is an incredible talent and a terrific performer – the Residents loved watching her sing.

“It’s incredible to have a professional opera singer perform in the garden here, and we were all aware how special it was.

“This is the second time Angela has visited and it was wonderful to hear her sing again.”

Musical sessions are incredibly popular with the Residents at Rutherglen. They also enjoy twice-monthly streamed performances from the Music In Hospitals & Care. 

Singers perform a range of classic songs, folk tunes and musical favourites for Residents who love to get involved and singalong.
