Team Goldielea Raises £352 For Breast Cancer Charity
6 October 2022

Fundraisers at Goldielea smashed their charity target at the Home’s afternoon tea event, raising £352 for Breast Cancer Support.
Residents and Relatives joined Activities Co-ordinator Judith Champion and her Colleagues for an afternoon of cake, music and a raffle.
The raffle table was stacked with goodies from kind-hearted donors, including a £30 M&S voucher donated by a relative.
There were bottles of whiskey, wine, biscuits, perfume and chocolates, among the host of brilliant prizes on offer.
According to Judith, the raffle was just one highlight of the fun-packed day.
Judith said: “We’re thrilled to have raised so much money for our breast cancer charity.
“The Residents helped me prepare for the event by hand-making all the pink bunting and lanterns during our craft sessions.
“It was lovely to see everyone socialising in the two lounges during the event, and the karaoke DVD was put to good use.
“Everyone was excited about the raffle, and we had some delighted winners.”
Residents feasted on homemade cakes, including a Victoria sponge made with freshly whipped cream.
Judith added: “The cakes were delicious, and the calories don’t count when it’s part of fundraising for a good cause!
“I’m so glad we were able to give the Residents and their loved ones a lovely afternoon and do some good for breast cancer awareness.
“I’m proud of everyone involved for working hard to make the event a big success.”
