Chef Scott Brings Cupcake Culinary Magic To Gorton Park Residents
20 November 2021

Talented Chef Scott Wright has been getting creative in the kitchen at Gorton Parks – and elevated his cake decorating game to the next level.
Scott enjoys serving up delicious food for the Residents and wanted to learn some new skills to wow them during afternoon tea.
So, after getting some decorating tools, Scott got practising at home and is now serving up stunning cakes for everyone to enjoy – and they look as good as they taste.
Scott said: “I started learning cake decorating online and got really into it.
“It’s one of those skills that takes a lot of practice, and I’ve had my wife helping me at Home with my bakes.
“Sometimes I take the cakes home, and I once spent five hours decorating them before bringing them back into work.
“It’s just lovely to do something special for Residents and brighten up their days.”
According to Scott, he’s able to mix things up on the Gorton Parks menu, introducing different ideas and themes into the weekly planning.
Recently, the Home enjoyed Italian night, complete with pizzas served in proper takeaway boxes, rich lasagne and garlic bread.
Scott is already getting his Christmas preparations underway, having baked and frozen gingerbread Christmas trees, peppermint brownies and fruity Christmas cakes.
Scott says, “It’s a busy time of year for us, but we enjoy getting all the special treats ready for the festive season.
“There are going to be plenty of opportunities for me and my new colleague Kelly to demonstrate our decorating skills.
“The Residents have already had special cakes for World Alzheimer’s Day, Halloween and Remembrance Day, so we need to bring out the big guns for Christmas.
“It’ll be wonderful to see their faces as each cake is unveiled!”
