Hairdressing Hero Tracey Keeps Ryland View Residents Looking Fab
18 March 2021

Bad hair days have been outlawed at Ryland View Care Home thanks to the efforts of a multi-skilled member of staff.
Although Tracey Hill’s primary role at the Home is as a Care Worker, she’s taken on the job of chief hairdresser for Residents too.
Tracey trained in hairdressing at college in her previous life and decided to use those skills at Ryland View when coronavirus restrictions prevented the usual stylist from visiting.
Residents and their loved ones have been thrilled by Tracey’s work, and she says it means a lot to her to keep them all looking good.
Tracey said: “It’s been wonderful to be able to put a smile on the Residents’ faces – everyone loves having their hair done.
“It’s been great to get to know Residents across the other units at Ryland House, as previously I’d only worked with people living on my unit.
“I’ve had some lovely feedback – one relative got in touch to say, ‘Mum looks like Mum again!’ after I did her hair. It meant the world to me.”
Selfless Tracey has been coming in on her day’s off to do hairdressing and bought all the equipment she needed herself.
Her dedication and kindness have been fantastic, and she’s a credit to the Ryland View team.
