Hammerwich Hall Mixes It Up At Cheese And Wine Tasting Event

Hammerwich Hall Mixes It Up At Cheese And Wine Tasting Event

An afternoon of sampling cheese and wine provided the Residents of Hammerwich Hall with the perfect opportunity to make new friends.

The group gathered in the dining room to enjoy a fantastic spread of cheeses to taste, accompanied by a selection of tipples.

Activities Co-ordinator Beverley Brown and Colleagues had deliberately re-arranged the seating in the dining room so that nobody would take their usual places.

In doing so, they were able to encourage different Residents to mix and get to know each other better.

Beverley said: “The atmosphere was terrific – everyone had a lovely time.

“We had plenty of different types of cheese for them to sample, and it was great to see so many Residents trying something new and out of the ordinary.

“By mixing up the tables, Residents who don’t often chat got the chance to spend some time in each other’s company.

“This made a huge difference to the types of conversations that were happening and the energy in the room.”

The happy afternoon wouldn’t have been possible without excellent teamwork from Colleagues at Hammerwich Hall.

One Senior Carer went above and beyond to ensure the Residents had a great time.

Beverley said: “My Colleague Annette Francis came in on her day off to help with the wine and cheese tasting event.

“It was so kind of her to give up her free time to make sure the Residents had an afternoon to remember.

“We made sure that everyone got the chance to enjoy some cheese and wine by taking plates up to Residents who weren’t able to get to the dining room.

“Everyone had such a good time that we’re already planning the next event.”
