Hammerwich Hall Erica Neal Wins Care Home Manager Of The Year Award

There was terrific news for Hammerwich Hall at the Great British Care Awards when Erica Neal won the West Midlands Region’s Care Home Registered Manager of the Year award.

The judges said that Erica was an ‘inspirational manager with an obvious passion and dedication to making a difference.’

Colleague Kylie Stevens also received an accolade when presented with a Highly Commended certificate in the Care Home Chef category.

Kylie was commended for her ‘humble approach and the desire to make a difference’ after switching from her care assistant role to becoming a chef in 2016.

The West Midlands winners were announced at the International Conference Centre in Birmingham on Saturday 5th November.

Erica said: “It was a terrific occasion, and I was thrilled to win this prestigious award.

“Being recognised for your work means a lot, but I couldn’t do what I do without the support of my fantastic team at Hammerwich Hall.

“I’m so glad Kylie was praised for all she does and could enjoy the limelight too.

“Both of us care deeply about the Residents and our Colleagues, so these honours are very special indeed.”

The judges’ full remarks made Advinia’s senior team incredibly proud of their dedicated team members.

The judging panel said of Erica:

“Erica impressed the judges as an inspirational manager with an obvious passion and lifelong dedication to making a difference by providing the highest standard of care and support, leading by example and loving what she does.”

The comments that accompanied Kylie’s ‘Highly Commended’ recognition said:

“Just when someone could have walked away from care completely, Kylie tried something different and found out that she loved it!

“Being able to get people eating is a fantastic achievement. Her humble approach and the desire to make a difference reflects that of so many in social care.”
