Haydale Amateur Designers Complete Room Renovation Projects
11 May 2022

Residents at Haydale have been given a chance to renovate their bedrooms and create personalised havens.
Activities Co-ordinator Kristin Millar has empowered residents to pick the colours, soft furnishings and décor for their spaces.
At Haydale, each Resident is offered the chance to have a feature wall in their bedroom and can choose the colours.
Kristin has been there to help them select their favourite shade and then add in the touches that’ll make it feel cosy and homely.
Kristin said: “It’s fantastic to see the Residents transform their rooms, and the impact on their wellbeing is so positive.
“We begin with the colour of the feature wall, and then I’ll be there to show them options for bedding, soft furnishings, plants, and ornaments.
“I try to include as many sensory elements, such as aromatherapy diffusers, lighting, soft textures and soundscapes.
“It’s great to see the room come together.”
Resident Alice was particularly excited to get started on renovating her space.
Working with Kristin, she was able to design the perfect room for her.
Kristin said: “It’s so moving to see how much Alice loves her new room.
“To have that sanctuary means the world to her, and it was lovely to be able to empower her to create it.
“Thanks to the rest of the team here – including our terrific maintenance staff – for helping to make these bedroom projects happen.”
