Haydale Care Home Hosts Memorable St. Patrick’s Day Shindig
19 March 2024
Haydale Care Home was a sea of green as residents and staff came together to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in true Irish style. The dining room was transformed into a festive haven adorned with shamrocks, leprechaun hats, and green streamers, setting the stage for a lively celebration.
The highlight of the day was a special live music concert featuring singer Colin McInally, who serenaded the crowd with classic Irish tunes by the likes of The Pogues, Daniel O’Donnell, and Boyzone. Residents tapped their feet and clapped along as Colin’s melodic voice filled the room, transporting everyone to the Emerald Isle for a brief moment.
The infectious energy of the music spurred residents and staff to take to the dance floor, twirling and swaying to the rhythm of the Irish jigs and reels. Wellbeing staff Isabel and Kirstin joined in the festivities, encouraging residents to let loose and enjoy themselves as part of Advinia’s whole-home approach to wellness.
Among the dancers was Craig Campbell, who couldn’t contain his excitement. “What a great afternoon,” he exclaimed. “I was up dancing, it was good fun.” His sentiment was echoed by many others, who relished the opportunity to come together and celebrate in a joyous atmosphere.
As the music continued to play and laughter filled the air, it was clear that the St. Patrick’s Day shindig at Haydale Care Home would be a cherished memory for residents and staff alike.
