Kingsway Team Thanks Local Community For Outpouring Of Love and Support
3 March 2021
The team at Kingsway Care Home have been overwhelmed by the kindness shown by their local community since the pandemic hit.
Multiple community groups, schools, local businesses and neighbours have sent donations, presents and well wishes to Colleagues and Residents during their most challenging time.
Activities Co-ordinator Hayley Coxon said that everyone at the Home had been moved by the outpouring of love and support shown by their neighbours.
From donations of Easter eggs, afternoon teas, care packages, cards, bunting, pamper hampers and many more gifts, there’s been lots to enjoy.
Hayley said: “From the moment we had to lockdown, our community has rallied around – people have been so thoughtful.
“The children at Langley Park School have written cards, businesses in the local community donated 60 Easter eggs, we got pamper hampers from St. Michael’s and All Angels Parish.
“We’ve also had homemade blankets, mascots and cakes from people in the local area. It’s really helped to raise our spirits.”
At the beginning of the pandemic, Residents were sent a care package by the Langley Park Community Spirit group. Their continued efforts and fundraising has meant the world to Team Kingsway.
Hayley added: “I think we’ve all discovered how important it is to show care and compassion to people in our local communities. Every gesture that we’ve received has made a big impact, and we thank everyone for keeping us in their thoughts.”
