Residents Take The Initiative At Parklands Court Knitting Classes
12 April 2021

Creative Residents at Parklands Court have been putting on special knitting classes to share their skills.
There are plenty of keen knitters among the Residents, and before the lockdown, there were regular classes held at the Home.
However, when the usual teacher couldn’t come in anymore, Residents decided to start their own sessions and pass on skills to the Parklands Court Colleagues who care for them.
The group have begun with baby blanket squares but have also been learning crochet and other knitting skills.
Senior Activities Lead Patricia Pruden said that the Residents are great teachers.
Patricia said: “The knitting classes are fantastic, the ladies who are teaching them are incredibly talented and knowledgeable.
“For me and the others who are taking part, it’s great to learn a new skill and have someone to guide you.
“Many of our care workers had no clue about knitting when we began, so it’s been terrific to watch them learn and grow.”
