Maycroft Care Home Hosts a Christmas Party to Remember

Maycroft Care Home transformed into a festive wonderland as residents, staff, families, and a talented singer, came together for a lively Christmas party.

The celebration kicked off with an energetic performance by singer Pauline Brown, who filled the air with upbeat Christmas songs, setting the stage for an afternoon of merriment. Residents and their families were treated to a musical journey that brought the holiday spirit to life.

Following the musical extravaganza, the festivities continued with mulled wine, a delectable buffet, and lively conversations. The care home was abuzz with the warmth of shared moments and the joy of being together during the holiday season.

A highlight of the event was the raffle, held to raise funds for the Maycroft Resident Fund. Generous donations from local businesses, including Meldreth One Stop, Gena’s Nail Bar in Melbourn, and Fieldgate Nurseries in Meldreth, added an extra layer of excitement to the proceedings. The community’s support was evident as £71 was raised, contributing to the well-being of the residents.

The party provided a platform for residents to showcase their dancing prowess, with John leading the way in teaching a waltz, complete with spins. The dance floor came alive with the joyful movements of residents, including Peter, who shared a delightful dance with his wife, Barney. The sight of couples dancing and residents enjoying the festivities added a heartwarming touch to the Christmas celebration.

 

Ron, a resident, expressed his gratitude after dancing, saying, “Thank you, you’ve made my day. I can’t remember the last time I had a dance. I’ve had such a nice time.” Caroline, daughter of resident Pamela, remarked on the lively atmosphere, saying, “The home has such a buzz to it. It’s been a great party, and so lovely to see all the residents together enjoying themselves.”
