Residents Take A Trip Down Memory Lane For Valentine’s Day

Goldielea’s Valentine’s Day celebrations took an emotional turn this year as Residents shared their very own love stories.
Colleagues put together a love-themed celebration, complete with hearts and roses decorations and a scrummy buffet.
However, when Residents sat down to compile notes for their ‘Remembrance Tree’, the conversation got deep.
Activities Co-ordinator Sarah Thirlwall said that it was wonderful to hear about everyone’s romantic relationships.
Sarah said: “We asked each of the Residents how they met their partners, and there were some lovely tales.
“One Resident had a husband who would cycle 15 miles to see her! Other Residents met their other half at dances, in Glasgow or at the ICI factory in Dumfries.
“It was really nice to hear everyone’s stories, and I felt the group bonded over their recollections. It was a lovely way to spend Valentine’s Day afternoon.”
