Langley Park Community Fundraisers Provide Movie Magic For Kingsway

The Residents of Kingsway can now enjoy the big screen experience in their own Home – thanks to fundraisers from the Langley Park Community Spirit group.
The kind-hearted locals started a charity drive in August when they sourced prizes galore for a raffle in aid of two Homes in the Langley Park area.
With many fundraising plans in disarray due to the pandemic, the group wanted to raise money for Resident activities and equipment.
The raffle was a big success, smashing the target of £500 set by the organisers. Both Homes were presented with a £500 donation to spend on things Residents would most enjoy.
For Kingsway, that meant recreating the magic of the movies, and Activities Co-ordinator Hayley Coxon said the money had been put to good use.
Hayley said: “We are so thrilled that the local community rallied round to give Residents a treat.
“We have bought a projector, speakers and a giant screen to show movies. The Residents here love watching their favourite films, and now they can do so on the big screen with terrific sound.
“We chose Grease as the screen’s debut movie and everyone had a wonderful sing-a-long with John and Olivia!
“Now every day can be movie day at Kingsway!”
