Netherton Green’s Red Nose Day Extravaganza Brings Laughter and Music
19 March 2024
In a spirit of giving and laughter, Netherton Green Care Home hosted a jubilant celebration in honor of Red Nose Day. Led by Activities Coordinator Karen, the staff rallied together to raise funds for charity with a playful twist, donning red attire and embracing the theme of the day.
Among the creative ensembles was the unexpected appearance of strawberry costumes, adding an extra dash of whimsy to the festivities. Even Rico, the Home Manager, enthusiastically joined in, donning a strawberry costume alongside the staff, much to the delight of residents.
The sight of Karen and her team adorned in their fruity attire elicited laughter and smiles from the residents, with one resident, Lillian, expressing her delight, saying, “You always make me smile, and you look amazing!”
Adding to the jovial atmosphere was James, the singer, who serenaded the crowd with a captivating mix of tunes ranging from reggae to swing, including classics by Frank Sinatra. Residents enthusiastically sang along, their voices mingling with the melody, while staff members showcased their dance moves, spreading joy throughout the room.
As the music filled the air and laughter echoed through the halls, the aroma of freshly baked cakes and pastries enticed everyone to indulge in a delectable feast prepared by the in-house chef.
At the conclusion of the event, another resident, who was once a singer in clubs himself, commended James on his performance, remarking, “Well done, chap. You have a brilliant voice.” His heartfelt praise served as a testament to the power of music and laughter to uplift spirits and foster connections within the Netherton Green community.
