Devoted Couple Reunited Thanks To New Visitor Pod At Mill View
16 March 2021
The arrival of a COVID safe visiting pod has enabled Team Mill View to reunite Resident Margaret with her husband after a year apart.
Margaret, who is living with dementia, hadn’t seen her husband John for 12 months due to the pandemic.
However, when the visitor pod was installed, Care Assistant Bethany Longworth was able to arrange for the couple to spend time together.
She said that their reunion was so moving that she and Colleagues had tears in their eyes.
Bethany said: “The smiles on their faces were absolutely fantastic.
“Margaret does live with dementia, but she remembers her husband, and it’s been so hard for them both to be apart for this long.
“So, the moment they were reunited was incredibly special for them. I’m so happy we could make it happen.”
The safety of Residents is the priority in every Advinia Home. Those using the new visitor pod at Mill View have a temperature check when they arrive and take an LFT COVID test.
After each visit concludes, the team come in and clean the pod thoroughly, ready for the next session.
Bethany said: “I’m helping Residents to book their visits and doing COVID testing.
“It’s a great privilege to be able to help loved ones get together safely.”
