Summer Party Celebrations Ensure Norwood Residents End The Season In Style
23 September 2021
A glorious summer fete in the sunshine provided the perfect end to the season for Residents at Norwood Care Home.
On Wednesday 1st September, Residents were joined by friends and family for the fete in the Home’s garden.
Entertainment was provided by crooner Charlie Gorman, who performed a set of classic songs for his delighted audience.
Residents enjoyed dancing and singing along to the music, which included favourites songs from the 50s, 60s and 70s.
There was a delicious spread of food and drink for everyone to enjoy, including strawberry tarts, sandwiches and cupcakes.
Activities Co-ordinator Susan Devenay said it was the perfect way to say goodbye to summer.
Susan said: “We had a wonderful afternoon in the sun – it was one of the hottest days of the year!
“The Residents and their families were over the moon to be able to socialise together again.
“As well as the entertainment and food, we also did a raffle with some fab prizes to raise money for our Residents’ fund.”
Following the event, Susan said that she and the team have received plenty of excellent feedback from those who attended.
Susan said: “The residents couldn’t stop talking about how much fun they had.
“We know the event really lifted everyone’s spirits and Relatives have been in touch to say what a terrific afternoon it was.”
