Parklands Court Care Home: A Day Full of Joy, Friendship, and Little Acts of Love
17 June 2025

Residents and staff at Parklands Court Care Home enjoyed a day filled with heartfelt moments and meaningful interactions, all reflecting the home’s ongoing commitment to the B Happie wellbeing philosophy, which focuses on creating a connected, comforting and uplifting environment for all who live and work there.

One of the highlights of the day was the celebration of a very special guest—Paul, the husband of resident Wendy—who visits his wife daily. On the occasion of his 71st birthday, staff surprised him with a birthday card, balloons, and decorations to make his visit extra special. The gesture was warmly received and added a joyful touch to the day’s events.
Wendy, known throughout the home for her creativity and generosity, has also been keeping spirits high through her bracelet-making hobby. She crafts colourful beaded bracelets for fellow residents, staff members, and their families—always in their favourite colours—bringing smiles to everyone she gifts them to.

Elsewhere in the home, a new social tradition is forming on Marlborough, where a group of female residents have started a regular “nitter natter” gathering. These informal chats have become a cherished time of day for many, offering a space for laughter, conversation, and friendship to flourish.
Meanwhile, over at Samuel House, residents Wendy and Julie decided to treat themselves to a Chinese takeaway. The two neighbours shared a relaxed evening meal, highlighting the importance of freedom, personal choice, and companionship in daily life at the home.
