Parklands Court Arranges Special Visitor For Walsall FC Superfan

There was a wonderful surprise for football superfan Doreen when the Head Coach of Walsall FC visited her at Parklands Court.

Doreen has been a lifelong ‘Saddlers’ fan and used to regularly attend the club’s games at Bescot Stadium.

After talking to Doreen about her love of the beautiful game and her home team, Care Assistant Anna Harmison got in contact with Walsall FC.

She asked Head Coach Michael Flynn if he’d like to visit with Doreen, and the kind-hearted sports professional was happy to oblige.

 

Following their visit, Michael also dedicated Walsall FC’s win to Doreen personally at the match, which left her beside herself with joy.

But Michael wasn’t done yet as he returned with a signed Walsall FC shirt for Doreen, and an invitation to her and her family to watch her team take on Crewe Alexandra in December from their VIP box.

Doreen said: “I thought it was so lovely for Michael to come and see me – it was a shock and a surprise!

“When Anna showed me the video of Michael dedicating the win to the fans, especially me, I did cry. It was such a wonderful thing for him to do.

“Michael’s visit brought back some good memories from when I used to have a season ticket and meet old and new friends at Walsall FC matches.

“I’m over the moon that we’ve been invited to the stadium to watch a game. It’s going to be an amazing experience for me and my family.”

Meanwhile, Anna said she was delighted to have given Doreen an experience she’ll never forget.

Anna said: “I’m only too happy to do something special for the Residents – it’s fantastic to make them smile.

“Doreen was delighted to meet Michael, and his dedication to her at the match was the icing on the cake.

“We couldn’t believe it when he returned with the shirt and such a special invitation. It’s going to be amazing to experience the match from the VIP area and see Doreen treated like a queen.

“It’s made my day to know Doreen is getting some precious memories that she can cherish forever.”
