Parklands Court Residents Enjoy Day Trips In The Sunshine

The spring sunshine has inspired Residents at Parklands Court to get out into the local community for some lovely day trips.

Care Colleagues arranged a trip for Residents to Hollybush Garden Centre to snap up plants for the grounds and enjoy a slice of cake.

The Residents had a lovely time wandering around the centre, picking out a range of seeds to begin their horticultural efforts for 2022.

They also stopped by to see the fish in the aquarium before decamping to the coffee shop for a warm drink and a sweet treat.

Parklands Court Activities Co-ordinator Patricia Pruden said it was great for the Residents to get out and about.

Patricia said: “It’s always lovely to have a trip out, and the Residents had a terrific time.

“There’s so much to see at Hollybush, and we wanted to get the Residents’ input on what to grow this year in the gardens.

“They chose cauliflower, carrots and broad beans, as well as sunflowers, sweet peas and chrysanthemums.

“Our ‘Advinia In Bloom’ plans are starting to take shape.”

On Good Friday, Residents enjoyed visiting Bloxwich Park to participate in the Walk of Witness.

They joined members of the community to sing hymns, listen to speakers and follow the cross during the traditional Easter celebrations.

Patricia added: “Many of our Residents are people of faith, so it was lovely for them to be part of the Easter activities.

“It was a beautiful sunny day and the perfect way to begin our bank holiday weekend.”
