Parklands Court Marks The Queen’s Birthday In Royal Style
1 June 2021
Queen Elizabeth II’s 95th birthday inspired a right royal knees-up at Parklands Court Care Home in Walsall.
The Residents congregated on Wednesday 21st April to make special birthday cards for Her Majesty’s big day.
Following the crafting session, Residents enjoyed some games of royal bingo, where they waved their flags and wore their Queen Elizabeth masks.
Later in the day, a delicious afternoon tea was laid on, and the group discussed our monarch’s incredible reign.
Senior Activities Lead Patricia Pruden said Residents are keen followers of the royal family.
Patricia said: “The Residents are big fans of the Queen and think she’s done a marvellous job.
“We were talking about how wonderful the Queen is for her age and how good it is that she’s stayed on the throne all these years.
“It was nice to have a chance to celebrate her on her birthday and put on a tea party for the Residents.”
Like many members of the British public, Parklands Court Residents enjoy hearing about the royals and all the things that are going on in their lives.
According to Patricia, memories of the Queen’s reign inspired some Residents to think back on their personal recollections.
Patricia added: “I think we all have memories of when those big royal events happened and what we were doing at the time.
“From jubilees, coronations, difficult times and celebrations, the Queen is part of the fabric of our lives, and it’s always nice to hear the Residents reminiscing.”
