Pub Day Friday Is A Big Hit For Netherton Green Residents
7 February 2021
Every Friday is ‘Pub Day’ for the Residents of Netherton Green, and they are thoroughly enjoying this new regular feature on the activities calendar.
The Home is lucky enough to have their very own watering hole – The Fox and Duck – on one of the units.
However, with the lockdown restrictions in place, Residents aren’t able to move between units, so those who enjoyed their Fox and Duck visits haven’t been able to go.
So, Activities Co-ordinator Karen Winmill came up with a plan to bring the pub to them.
Karen said: “We wanted to capture the spirit of the traditional pub and make sure all Residents could enjoy a Friday treat.
“We serve up crisps, pork scratchings, soft drinks and non-alcoholic lager. There are also cheese and onion cobs and other treats from the pub.
“It’s nice for Residents to have a wind down at the end of the week and enjoy some chitchat in their little pub day groups.
“We’ve had some lovely feedback, and Residents appreciate the fact we’ve brought the ‘Fox and Duck’ to their units.”
