Roberttown Chef Claudine Gets Emotional During Recognition Award Presentation
9 December 2021
There were heart-warming scenes at Roberttown this December when Chef Claudine was honoured for her contribution to the Home.
Home Manager Leah Walker surprised Claudine just after lunch service finished with a special certificate of recognition for her incredible work.
Tearful Claudine was lost for words as Leah spoke of her dedication, commitment and loyalty while Residents and Colleagues watched on.
It was a lovely moment as Claudine was handed a bright bouquet of flowers along with her certificate.
Leah said: “Claudine is a phenomenal lady, and it was fantastic to take a moment to pay tribute to her.
“We just sprung this on her, so Claudine was left speechless, and there were some happy tears.
“It was lovely to see how much it meant to her and to show her how much she means to all of us.”
Claudine works incredibly hard to make sure the Residents at Roberttown can enjoy a nutritious and delicious menu.
According to Leah, she goes over and above to make sure the kitchen runs like clockwork, and everyone gets meals they like.
Leah said: “Claudine has so much knowledge about food and working with Residents.
“She encourages people to eat and takes time to find out about their likes and dislikes.
“The kitchen is her domain, and she looks after it so well, but every chance she gets, Claudine gets out into the Home to mix with the Residents.
“Everybody thinks the world of her, and it was great to be able to give her a token of our appreciation.”
