Roberttown Praised For Sensational Jubilee Party
8 June 2022
A joyful celebration of the Queen’s 70 years on the throne has won praise from Roberttown Residents’ loved ones.
Home Manager Leah Walker received heartfelt messages of thanks for ‘bringing everyone together at last’ on the special day.
Roberttown hosted a celebration complete with live music, jubilee decorations and a delicious BBQ spread.
The party looked in peril when rain put pay to the outdoor plans. But the team rallied to transform the home into a space fit for Her Majesty and moved the party inside.
Residents had a wonderful day listening to a hit-filled set list from Wakefield singer Tony Fletcher, who belted out classic hits by The Beatles, Cliff Richard and Elvis.
Their loved ones joined them at Roberttown for the occasion, the first big post-pandemic event.
Leah said: “It was the most incredible atmosphere and a day none of us will ever forget.
“Since I took over two years ago, we haven’t been able to host a big bash due to the restrictions.
“One of the messages said: ‘Well done for bringing everyone together again at last!’
“It means the world to my team and me that we were able to make that happen.”
Residents dressed up in Union Jack themed bowler hats and waved their flags during the festivities.
There was a raffle, a tombola and plenty of cake to mark the royal milestone.
Leah added: “We also made sure to screen the celebrations in London so Residents could enjoy the spectacle at the palace.
“It made us all feel very proud of our Home, our country and our Queen.”
