Ruby Sparkles As She Turns 101 At Goldielea Care Home

Beloved Goldielea Resident Ruby Brown celebrated turning 101 this March with a birthday tea party.

Ruby, who was born in 1921, is well-known for her great sense of humour and sparkling personality.

To commemorate her big birthday, Goldielea’s cooks baked a delicious birthday cake, and she received well-wishes from her family, including her daughter and son.

Remarkable Ruby has kept her good humour throughout her life and continues to bring plenty of fun to the Home.

Activity Co-ordinator Sarah Thirlwall said that Ruby’s birthday was special.

Sarah said: “This is Ruby’s second lockdown birthday, but she didn’t let that dampen her spirits.

“She’s a very funny lady who loves drinking tea all day long, having a joke with the staff and socialising with her fellow Residents.

“It was lovely to get together and share cake and refreshments to mark Ruby’s day. 

“It’s incredible to reach the age of 101 and we’re all in awe of Ruby.”
