Rutherglen Care Home Hosts Annual Remembrance Day Service

Our Rutherglen Care Home, located in Scotland held their annual Remembrance Day service on Saturday, November 11th.

The service was conducted by Rev Neil Watson of Stonelaw Church, with Stewart Walker – Area Vice Chairman, Mick Gethins – Area Drill Instructor, and Elaine Walker of The Royal British Legion in attendance as well as army cadets.

After some reflection during a minutes silence, there was a proud moment for residents Agnes Graham, Andrew Thomson and George Davis who were asked to lay wreaths.

“It was a lovely service and it was nice to see the army cadets in their uniforms,” said 85-year-old Susan Hughes.

Teas, coffees and snacks were served up after the service and everyone enjoyed socializing.

Activity co-ordinator Rachel MacNeil added: “We had a great attendance for our service and it was good for everyone to be able to pay their respects together.”
