Rutherglen Residents Enjoy Garden Playtime With Local Kids
19 July 2022

There was a magical atmosphere at Rutherglen this July when young children from a local nursery came to enjoy garden playtime with Residents.
The group from ACE Place Nursery & OSC paid their first visit to the Home since the pandemic began for an uplifting afternoon of fun and frolics.
Residents were enchanted as the children played hide and seek, picked daisies, and went on a snail hunt.
According to Activities Co-ordinator Maureen Thomson, everybody had a great time.
Maureen said: “We were so happy to welcome the children from ACE Place back to Rutherglen.
“Over the years, we’ve built a strong bond with the nursery, which is located just at the end of our road.
“The Residents’ faces lit up when the children arrived, and it was lovely to see them having a great time together.
“It was such an uplifting visit and, hopefully, the first of many more happy memories made together.”
Before the pandemic, Rutherglen and ACE Place took turns to host visits.
Since the nursery is situated so close, it was within easy reach for Residents, who enjoyed going there to see the children.
Maureen added: “We’re hoping to get over to see them again soon.
“These visits have such a positive impact on the Resident and the children, who interact so well with us.
“We’re hoping to be able to do visits either here or at the nursery regularly from now on.”
