Millview Residents Sow The Seeds For A Blooming Summer
14 April 2021

The chilly Scottish spring has proved no obstacle to Millview’s gardening plans – they’ve simply bought the potting shed inside.
Activities Co-ordinator Lindsay Massot and Colleagues wanted to get everyone involved with their entry for this year’s ‘Advinia in Bloom’ competition.
However, while the sky was bright, the wind was up, so instead of planting seeds outdoors, the team decided to make it an indoor affair.
According to Lindsay, the Residents enjoyed getting stuck in from the warmth of their Home.
Lindsay said: “It was a lovely sunny day, but still too chilly to get outside.
“The Residents were keen to do some potting, so we simply transported everything indoors.
“It was great that so many Residents were able to get involved – even those who have to stay in bed could have a go.
“We got lots done, and we’re all excited to see how things bloom over the next few months.”
As well as some pretty plants and flowers, the group also created a raised bed for carrots and peas, planted herbs, potatoes and scattered wildflower seeds in the rockery.
They have also planted sunflowers as part of the Advinia competition and hope to have a stunning entry to offer.
