Sir Bob Brings Doggie Joy To Barrock Court Residents
2 March 2021

The arrival of a visiting dog friend has brought fun and excitement to the Residents of Barrock Court Nursing Home.
Sir Bob, Deputy Manager Lisa Plackett’s pet dog, is an adorable Poochon (a mix between a poodle and a Bichon Frise).
When Lisa joined the team in September, she asked if Residents would like Sir Bob to visit and the answer was a resounding ‘Yes please!’.
So, now Sir Bob makes an appearance every fortnight to say hello to his new friends.
Lisa said: Sir Bob is very popular and it’s lovely to see the happiness he brings to Residents.
“He comes in wearing his bow tie and enjoys having a big fuss made of him.
“One of our ladies likes to take him for a walk in the nearby woodland each time and he loves that. Sir Bob is a very sweet soul.”
As a calm and quiet dog, Sir Bob is the perfect companion for Residents enjoying a relaxing afternoon.
He’s also been a comforting presence in times of need.
Lisa added: “Sir Bob went to lay beside a gentleman who was very poorly and hadn’t been very responsive for a few days.
“His face lit up when Sir Bob got onto the bed and lay quietly beside him. It was a very moving moment and showed just what it means to have a little dog to show you love and comfort.”
